What does "Traceability" mean?
Traceability is the "aptitude to find the history, the use or the localization of an entity by means of recorded identifications" (ISO8402). In other words, traceability is the creation of a tracking system, for all stages of production, from the origin of the product to the end product, which can be used as a benchmark to ensure the origin and the quality of the product in order to guarantee that it is safe for consumer consumption.
What does "Identifier" mean?
An identifier is a means of identification that differentiates a product or a group of products.

Identification methods: visual tags, bar codes, RFID tags, biometrics, registry certificates, etc.
What does "Premises" mean?
Premises are geographically delimited physical locations, such as land parcels or buildings, on which animals, plants or foods are grown, kept, assembled or disposed of.
